Art on an Island is an adventure!

Starting with a boat ride, visitors immediately embark on a creative journey.

Artists at Work 2018 will be held at Macleay Island Arts Complex (MIAC) on Easter Sunday, April 1st from 10am till 4pm. Free Entry.

The event is designed to give visitors from The Redlands and further afield the opportunity to see the diverse range of artistic talent our island region offers.

Take a stroll around this Southern Moreton Bay haven and the chances are you will bump into internationally recognised artists and nationally respected craftspeople, given at least 250 artisans live and work on an island with a population of around 3500.

Wander through the Art Gallery Exhibition and around MIAC gardens and Pottery that overlooks Paperbark Lagoon whilst you listen to original local musicians.

You can talk with the artists, ask questions or just watch them create.

Allow your eyes to feast upon colour, shape and form as brushes, pens and crayons turn canvas, paper and other materials into works of art. See timber, clay, silver and fabric being transformed into objects of beauty.

Visitors of course will have the opportunity to purchase original handmade works in situ or from the new exhibition in the gallery.

FREE transport will be provided for this special occasion between Island Jetty and the Arts Complex.
