2017 Macleay Island ‘ARTISTS AT WORK’
Art is a stimulating activity!
Art on an Island is an Adventure!
You are invited to join us at Macleay Island Arts Complex, sculpture garden and grounds on Sunday 16th of April for a one day spectacular Artists’ At Work Event.
Macleay Island Arts Complex and our bayside, landscaped sculpture gardens will be a vibrant creative atmosphere with artists working and displaying their work in the art, pottery and print workshops and outside under marquees.
MIAC Potters and Artists have their major Fired Earth Exhibition in the main art Gallery.
The Bowls Club and The Sailing Club will also be running events that day so that it is envisioned that the whole vicinity will be a hive of activity.
Macleay Island in Moreton Bay is a home to a wealth of talented artists who have created their own artistic Mecca, and who are now eager to share their talents.
On Easter Sunday a group of these island artists are getting together at the Macleay Island Arts Complex.
Wander around the Arts Complex and you will be mesmerised by artists working their craft showing how they work and explaining the skills, motivations and inspirations behind their creations to local residents and mainland visitors. Painters, sculptors, wood carvers, potters and print makers will be represented.
Artists at Work is not a static display of artworks.
It’s a unique ‘behind the scenes’ look at the way artists work and a rare opportunity to meet emerging artists and artists with national and international reputations in their fields and whose works appear in Australian and overseas galleries and private collections.
Allow your eyes to feast upon colour, shape and form as brushes, pens and crayons turn canvas, paper and cloth into works of art. See timber and clay being transformed into objects of beauty.
Artwork for sale. Buy directly from the artists.
